Approved minutes of the Commissioners’ meeting for September 4, 2007.
Recognized Deborah Wiggins Carter and Monica Lucas for receiving the Caring, Serving, and Respecting Customer Award.
Received an update on the Raleigh/Wake County Ten-year Action Plan to End and Prevent Homelessness.
Received an update on the Wake County Bond Referenda 2007 that will be placed before Wake County citizens on October 9, 2007.
Received an update on the EPA’s proposed plan for downstream cleanup of the Ward Transformer Superfund Site and staff’s assessment of the EPA’s recommendations for remediation.
Approved by consent all agenda items as follows:
Authorized the County Manager to enter into a 36-month lease agreement with AT&T for 9-1-1 call-center communications equipment for the Raleigh/Wake Communications Center and its back-up facility at 3929 Barwell Road.
Approved the settlement of two workers compensation claims for a total cost of $330,118.
Acted on these items under the regular agenda:
Held a public hearing and authorized renewal of UNC Hospitals’ ambulance franchise for operation of a medical care transportation service for the critical-care transport in Wake County pursuant to the requirements of Chapter 2-7, Article III, Wake County Code of Ordinances.
Received a request from the town of Knightdale to refer its Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction application to the County Planning Board and staff for review and recommendation.
Received a second reading and approved a request from the Wake County Public School System on the quarterly appropriation and reallocation of CIP 2006 funds.
Approved housing development grant/loan recommendations totaling $496,702 to CASA, Inc. and Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, Inc.
Approved appointments to the Wake County Board of Adjustment and the Wake County Library Commission.
